How to Support Charities this Christmas

With the festive period well underway, many of us will be hard at work helping local charities cater for the demand that Christmas brings.

But what if we told you there are ways to support the Andrew Grene Foundation and charities alike without having to give up any extra time, or money?

Below, we go into more detail about how you can do just that.

Ways you can support charities at Christmas

Christmas charity donations can be made without needing to directly donate to a charity.

There are plenty of schemes running that allow you to earn extra money when you shop online using popular retailers such as Amazon.

Here are a few of those schemes the Andrew Grene Foundation have benefited from:

Amazon Smile

Amazon Smile is an initiative set up by Amazon that works by donating 0.5% of eligible purchases to your selected charity.

All you have to do is visit smile.amazon.co.uk or smile.amazon.com, login with your Amazon account details and select a charity you’d like to support.

So far, we’ve raised over £152 just from Amazon Smile already! To put this in perspective, £75 would pay for 248 hot lunches at the Andrew Grene High School.

Give as you Live

For scheme that covers more online shops, you may want to try Give as you Live.

Give as you Live works by paying us (or whichever charity you choose) a small percentage of your online order from eligible sites. It’s that simple.

There are no extra or hidden costs involved. This scheme has helped raise £325.57 for the AGF to date.

easyfundraising

easyfundraising works in the same way as Give as you Live.

With over 3,815 retailers to choose from, making Christmas charity donations will seem effortless.

All you have to do is search for the retailer you want to shop with via easyfundraising. They will then track your visit and donate a portion of any purchase made to your selected charity.

GoRaise

GoRaise lets you fundraise for free just like the above two initiatives.

Choose from over 3,000 retailers on their website and when any eligible purchase is made, a portion of the purchase will be donated to a charity of your choice.

The amount depends on the retailer, but you’ll get an email every time a donation has been made. There are no extra costs or hidden fees with any of these schemes.

Sponsor a student

Stuck for ideas? We have a plenty of students that still need sponsoring at the Andrew Grene High School.

When you sponsor one of our students, they’ll even send you a greetings email to say thank you.

100% of your donation goes directly towards sponsoring your chosen student at the school, and you can be sure to make a lasting difference to their life and their family.
