New Football Shirts

New Football Shirts

Whilst working on the ground in such a challenging country, we need the expertise of a highly respected and recommended security operation and have partnered with the Reconnaissance Group since our early days. Over the years, AGF have forged close bonds with the team at Reconnaissance, to the extent that Jane Holden, our Fundraising Director, managed to persuade two of the Reconnaissance crew to run a half marathon alongside her! Thankfully, this hasn’t deterred them and we continue to benefit from the support of the Reconnaissance team.

It is thanks to our supporters at Reconnaissance, and in particular, Siobhan O’Toole, Head of Strategic Planning, that our students are now proudly wearing new football shirts. Siobhan decided to donate the football shirts after her father, Ray O’Toole, retired from the committee at Cherry Orchard Football Club in Ballyfermot, Dublin. Ray was keen to maintain charity connections through sport and Siobhan kindly suggested that the students at Andrew Grene High School might benefit from a new kit.

As there is no postal system in Haiti, parcel deliveries are extremely difficult but thanks to Siobhan’s tenacity, along with the generosity of Reconnaissance CEO Shane Henry, the shirts were finally delivered last week. As you can see from Ricot’s photograph, the students were delighted!
