Education

A Rob Petit short film
Our School
Following Haiti’s devastating earthquake in January 2010 the Andrew Grene Foundation (AGF) was set up to invest in the country to help with the reconstruction of Haiti from within.

Thank you Rob and the team at Milkwood TV for producing such incredible, inspirational films about our Foundation.

‘I never thought I would have the chance to go to school. I come from a large family and my parents work hard to feed us, and are left with no money for education. When I found out that I had a sponsor, I thanked God for this blessing. Now I can get an education and I plan to become a doctor. I want to help Haiti out of poverty’

Education

  • Many Haitian families cannot afford to educate their children
  • 33% of children aged 6-12 do not attend school

  • 80% of students drop out of high school because they can no longer afford to go.

The Andrew Grene High School

We built The Andrew Grene High School in Cité Soleil, opening it in August 2011, just eighteen months after the AGF was founded.

We now provide full-time education to over 250 students aged 11-19 through our Sponsor a student programme.
